HP Pavilion

HP Pavilion is a line of personal computers. The laptop is neither extremely slim, nor is it extremely light-weight. It is thick but not like your regular laptops.  The Pavilion x360 plays on the same idea and brings a spin of "premiumness" with it. The 2-in-1 laptop looks elegant as it is complimented by a brushed metal look from all sides. The HP logo comes with a mix of mirror finish and so do the laptop hinges, all of which look decent when teamed up in a single package. Although negligible, the power button on the side and the rim enclosing the touchpad also sport the same shiny metallic look.

The backlit keyboard adopts the same brushed metal appearance, making the design profile stable across the board. The speaker grille is placed above the keyboard layout. The laptop is neither extremely slim, nor is it extremely light-weight. It is thick but not like your regular laptops. The device weighs 1.32 kg, which is considerably low as compared to some chunky workstations out there.

HP has made sure that its Pavilion x360 doesn't excise on anything when it comes to connectivity. Majority of the left side of the Pavilion x360 is taken by the exhaust grille along with the power button on the corner, 3.5mm headphone slot and volume controllers. On the right, there is a charging slot, two USB 3.0 slots, a mini HDMI slot, a USB 2.0 Type-C slot and a card reader, all of which are used on a daily basis. The review unit we received (HP Pavilion x360 14-ba073TX) sported a 14-inch display with support for touch for easy use. The resolution carried here is 1080x1920 pixels (full HD), which in our opinion is decent enough for a 14-incher. QHD displays do add to the clarity and soar the pixel density, but for an everyday user full HD seems appropriate.

Xiaomi Redmi Y1

Redmi phones use the Xiaomi MIUI operating system, a variant of Android. The Xiaomi Redmi Y1, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 SoC, the phone comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of RAM. We also get a fingerprint sensor at the rear, which is an expected feature in this price range. The phone has a 5.5-inch HD screen with Corning Gorilla Glass on top, and ships with a micro-USB charging cable and 10W charger. It’s a fairly simple smartphone, and offers typical budget performance which is in line with the price of the phone. Everything works reliably, and you aren’t likely to face any significant issues in day-to-day use.

The front of the phone has the three capacitive navigation keys at the bottom, which aren’t backlit. The top of the phone has the 16-megapixel front camera and the lamp flash. Interestingly, you get a dedicated storage slot on the Xiaomi Redmi Y1; the tray has independent slots for both SIM cards as well as a micro-SD card.

The Xiaomi Redmi Y1 is more than a reliable mid-range smartphone. In line with the current favorite trend of the Indian consumer base, the Xiaomi Redmi Y1 comes with a 16-megapixel front camera with lamp flash. The front camera has an aperture of f/2.0, and can record video at up to 1080p resolution. The rear camera on the phone is a 13-megapixel snapper with phase detection autofocus, single-tone LED flash and 1080p video recording. The Redmi Y1 brings affordability to the selfie-first audience through its Redmi Y1, and is definitely worth looking at if you want a good front camera at under Rs 10,000.

Acer Predator Triton 700

The Acer  Predator Triton 700 - the powerful laptop that enhances your gaming performance. Equipped with 7th Gen Intel Core i7 processor and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics processor, gaming and multitasking is as smooth as silk. It is designed those who need for speed.
The keyboard-forward design of the Predator Triton 700 is an instant eye-catcher. We didn't realize where the touch pad was at first, but it's actually embedded in the clear piece of glass above the keyboard. We can see one of the system's cooling fans through the left side of the glass, softly backlit by an LED. Size-wise, the 15.5x10.5-inch exterior of the Triton 700 is on par with that of a typical 15.6-inch notebook. The number pad is a luxury with compromises on this notebook.

The keyboard on the Triton 700 is particularly extravagant. It has mechanical switches, a surprise given its slim design. The Acer Predator Sense software allows full control over the keyboard back-light settings. It has pattern presets for breathing, wave, raindrop, ripple, and other types of effects, or you can design your own lighting. The Triton 700 comes with one choice of display, a 1080p panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. The 1080p panel and high refresh rate here is an ideal combo for the smoothest possible gaming experience.
The colors and contrast on this display looked just fine to our eyes. The luminance was also adequate, although it wasn't bright to the point where we felt we needed to turn it down in a dark environment. The Triton 700 has a 720p/30fps Webcam on top of the display.

There are a total of three Type -A USB ports along the left edge. The two visible ones with the blue inserts are version 3.0, while a version 2.0 port strangely resides behind the rectangular cutout. The power button is oddly located on the right edge of the chassis, roughly aligned with the second row of keyboard keys. Acer managed to fit some additional ports along the back, too. There have full-size Display Port and HDMI video-out connectors and the AC power jack. It's possible to upgrade the memory and storage in the Triton 700. The Acer’s main advantage is its excellent per-key RGB backlit keyboard. The mechanical switches are a delight to type on, and we enjoyed the luxury of a full-size number pad.
